Dr. Stashower has extensive experience in clinical and academic medicine since 1992. He is the founder and director of The Clinical Skin Center of Northern Virginia in Fair Oaks. He served for 10 years as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy. While at Bethesda Naval Hospital, he had the honor to serve as consulting dermatologist to the U.S. Congress, Supreme Court and the White House.
Dr. Stashower has authored numerous publications, served as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and is board certified in Dermatology. An expert clinical dermatologist, he is actively involved in the education and training of residents and medical students. At the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, he has conducted clinical research trials and served as a consultant in the Department of Dermatology. He maintains a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. Additionally, Dr. Stashower works as a consultant and speaker for multiple pharmaceutical companies in the development of new therapies.
Originally from New York City, Dr. Stashower is a distinguished graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his Dermatology Residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His undergraduate degree is in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
