Kathy D. Tieu, M.D.

Dr. Kathy Tieu is a Board Certified Dermatologist with outstanding credentials and a great wealth of clinical experience.  What makes her one of the best is her ability to relate to her patients and help them understand their disease and treatment. She truly believes that kindness and empathy are a critical part of a patient’s treatment plan. She is widely recognized by her peers for her thoroughness and ability to understand the needs of the whole person.

Dr. Tieu grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia.  At Duke University, she earned a B.S in Biology and is a distinguished graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine.  She completed her Dermatology Residency training at the renowned San Diego Naval Medical Center in California. 

Few doctors can match Dr. Tieu’s extensive experience and credentials.  She earned a full scholarship to UVA medical school, and served our country for 12 years in the U.S. Navy as a Physician, Flight Surgeon and Dermatologist.  She has had the distinct honor to have served as the Consulting Dermatologist to the White House, where she even held her own Dermatology clinics!  She has served countless VIP patients including dignitaries, Admirals, Generals and ranking government officials. Additionally, she deployed as a Flight Surgeon with the U.S. Navy and Marines during combat operations in Afghanistan, and Djibouti in the Horn of Africa, where she proudly served with excellence and was recognized for her superb clinical skill and leadership.

Dr. Tieu is an expert in all conditions of the skin, hair and nails and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She practices medical, surgical and cosmetic Dermatology including Botox, Fillers and Lasers.
