Telemedicine Virtual Visit Procedure

  1. If you would like to show pictures to your Doctor during your visit, please follow these guidelines for taking pictures: Photography guidance for patients. Make sure you have easy access to the pictures that you share with your Doctor.
  2. Enter waiting room using your Doctor's link below.
  3. Once logged-in, you will be in the “virtual waiting room.”
  4. The doctor and medical assistant will then login and start your visit.
  5. Any prescriptions needed will be called into the pharmacy that you indicate during your visit.  Any lab tests that need to be ordered will be mailed to you in hard copy, so that you can go where you choose for specimen collection.  At the present time, we are unable to send lab requests electronically.
  6. If an in-office biopsy or follow-up is necessary, you will be called on the phone at the end of the visit to schedule this.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will the doctor be able to examine my skin?

A. The video platform uses standard definition resolution for interfacing.  This provides limited image detail.  It is important to understand these limitations, and that no technology can replace the detailed skin analysis that occurs during an in-person encounter. Some patients will require in-person follow up appointments.

Q. What is the cost of a telemedicine appointment?

A. Telemedicine visits cost the same as office visits. They are a convenient alternative for some patients. Co-pays specific to your plan will be billed/collected from you as appropriate.

Q. What if I am late to the appointment?

A. If patients connect more than 10 minutes late to their Telemedicine visit, their appointment is cancelled.

Q. Can my teenager have a video visit?

A. Patients under the age of 18 must have a legal adult guardian present during their Telemedicine visit.

Q. Who is in the room during my visit?

A. The doctor and a medical assistant will be present during your visit.  Care is taken to prevent others from being in the same room, we will carefully safeguard your privacy. The telemedicine link system is very secure.
